Brad Shelton, ATC, LAT

                     Head Athletic Trainer
Coach Shelton is in his second year as an Athletic Trainer for Midway High School.  He graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a B.S. in Athletic Training.  Coach Shelton has been an Athletic Trainer for 8 years,  with positions at Bryan High School and Foster High School.  His wife Kari is a 1998 graduate of Midway High School and is currently a Computer teacher and Assistant Soccer Coach for Midway HS.

Carrie Saulters, M. Ed, ATC, LAT

                  Assistant Athletic Trainer
Originally from Mesquite, Texas, this is Ms. Carrie Saulters’ first year at Midway High School. Prior to coming to Midway, she worked as a graduate assistant Athletic Trainer for Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Tyler, Texas while completing her Master’s. degree in Health and Kinesiology. Ms. Saulters’ received her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University at Commerce, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training and Health. Ms. Saulters has been an athletic trainer for a total of three years.

Jody Moore, M. Ed, ATC,

                 Assistant Athletic Trainer
Jody Moore, MS, ATC, is in his first year as middle school athletic trainer for Midway ISD.  Jody is a Midway grad, and just finished working at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.  Jody received his Bachelor's Degree from Baylor and received his Master's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  Since working at the Training Center in Colorado Springs, Jody has had the chance to travel internationally with USA Track and Field and USA Field Hockey. Throughout his career Jody has worked with numerous Olympic level athletes such as Jeremy Wariner, Henry Cejudo, Priscilla Lopes-Schliep , and Sarah Haskins .

Charles Stern, M.D.

 

                       Team Physician
Dr. Stern has volunteered his service to Midway High School athletes since 1996.  Dr. Stern received his B.S. from the University of Texas and his M.D. from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  Dr. Stern is a member of the Family Medicine Department for Scott & White.  Dr. Stern's office is located at the Fish Pond branch of Scott and White.  Dr. Stern's daughter is a member of Dance Team for Midway High School.



Jon M. Ellis, M.D.

                        Team Orthopedic
Originally from Bryan, Texas, Dr. Ellis specializes as an orthopaedic surgeon, board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. A graduate of Baylor University, Dr. Ellis received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1994, and then completed his orthopaedic residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. After completing a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Kentucky Sports Medicine Clinic in Lexington, Kentucky, Dr. Ellis moved to Waco in September 2000 to begin practicing medicine. In January 2003, Dr. Ellis opened Southwest Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics.

Dr. Ellis specializes in arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery and is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
