Football Parent Letter
The Midway Middle School football coaching staff is proud to have your son in the Midway Panther football program. The following information will hopefully answer any questions you may have.
-Seventh grade practices start at 7 am sharp. The doors to the locker room will be open at 6:30 am. You will need to drop your son off in the back of the school, and they will enter through the athletic doors in the back of the building. Eighth graders practice will be over at 5 pm. Please pick him up in the teacher's parking lot.
-You will need to purchase blue shorts and a grey T-shirt from middle school athletics for $16.00. The shorts cost $9 and the t-shirts cost $7. They are required to use these for Middle School workouts and must buy more if they are lost.
-A current doctor's physical is required. If we do not have a physical and travel card on file he will not be able to participate, and anyone without a physical will be removed from football on date to be determined.
-All 7th and 8th graders will be required to bring a towel the first week of school. We wash the towels daily for the student athletes.
-Each Athlete has been provided with a combination lock for his athletic locker. This is to protect the athletes items he will bring to school. If lost there is a replacement cost of $7.
-We field four teams for each grade. We have a Midway Red and Blue with each having an 'A' and 'B' squad. We want all players to have an opportunity to play.
-After road games the student may only travel home with their legal guardian. After each road game you must sign them out with a coach, or they must return to the school on the yellow bus. We do not want to leave any children behind.
-If an athlete skips a practice, without informing the school office or a coach he will be removed from athletics for the school year, and he will not be able to participate in Middle School Athletics.
-If a player has one unexcused absence from practice, he will not be allowed to play that week. (Leaving practice early will count as a missed practice.)
