Bricks that pave the road to State
Championships
-
Accountability, you
should bear the weight of your actions and responsibilities… No excuses. Think
like a champion, and act like a champion; TO BECOME a champion!
-
Punctuality, you should
be on time-in fact early-to practice, to class, and to the tee. If you want
the opportunity to participate in what counts in your eyes, be present,
punctual, and diligent in what counts in that of your coaches’ eyes.
-
No Pain, No Gain—Know
Pain, Know Gain. Yes this might be the oldest of sport clichés, but it makes
sense. You need to be willing to do that which you may not want to do, in
order to deserve the big prize-the Big Championship.
-
Discipline is the key to
all kinds of success, personal, and team oriented. You must embrace
disciplined in yourself, of the team, and from authority figures. Discipline
yourself, so others don’t have to.
-
Team versus ME? The
ultimate question in this sport…what is the most beneficial to me? The team?
These should be the same, how can something that is good for the team be bad
for me? It can’t. We need to be willing to give a little of ourselves to make
the TEAM stronger!
-
Student Athlete- The
student comes first and that is the way it is, you need to take care of your
academics first!
-
Compete! Don’t ever
forget that there might be a person on your team outworking you for your spot!
Never let complacency creep into your attitude.
-
Build. Build your
teammates up, build your friends up, and build yourself up. Never be that
force that brings down those around you. Always be a positive influence in
your environment, LEAD in the positive direction.
-
Class. Exude this
quality. Always act in the manner that you wish people to remember you. The
impression that you leave is a lasting one; let it be a positive one! You must
look like a champion and act like a champion-to BE A CHAMPION!
-
Are you satisfied? Don’t
be! Never let yourself be content with where you are, make sure that you are
always striving to be better, in your performance, in your attitude, and in
your life!
