NCAA ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

FOR COLLEGE ATHLETICS

(NCAA Division I or II Qualifier)

Prospective Student Athletes must complete 14 CORE COURSES in high school:

·        4 years of English

·        2 years of Math

·        2 years of Science

·        1 year of additional English, Math, or Science

·        2 years of Social Science

·        3 years of additional courses

GPA IN CORE COURSES (4 POINT SCALE)

          A= 100-90 = 4 points

          B=   89-80 = 3 points

          C=   79-75 = 2 points

          D=   74-70 = 1 point

          F=   below 70 = 0 points

*GPA plus ACT or SAT score determines if a student is a qualifier or a partial qualifier.

REGISTER WITH THE NCAA AFTER YOUR JUNIOR YEAR

• Students may register on-line at

www.ncaaclearinghouse.net and click on prospective

student athlete (Midway High School Code = 447290).

• $30.00 Fee (MasterCard or Visa accepted).

• Print out Student-Release form (2 copies – Copy #1 & Copy #2) and give to your high school counselor.  Your counselor will then send your initial transcript.

• Send ACT or SAT scores to NCAA Clearinghouse (Code 9999)
