Midway Panther Football Coaches

Coach Lonnie Judd is entering his 8th year as the offensive coordinator and 14th year coaching the Midway High School Panthers. Coach Judd graduated from Midway in 1986. He went on to play football at Sam Houston State University and graduated from Baylor University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. In 1991, he received his Master’s Degree in Education from Baylor. Coach Judd began his coaching career with a graduate assistant stint at Baylor for one year. Then, he accepted a coaching position at Reicher Catholic High School for the next five years. Presently, Coach Judd teaches English IV, and coaches football and track.

Coach Judd has been married to his wife Lisa, for 20 years. They have one son Brandon, a sophomore in college.

Coach Kenneth Wiethorn is in his 24th season as the receivers coach for the Midway High School Panthers.

Coach Wiethorn received his bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University, where he played football and ran track. Before coaching at Midway, he coached at Jersey Village and Olney. Along with his football coaching duties, he is also the Head Boys’ Track Coach and teaches high school physical education and health classes.

Coach Wiethorn is married to Tami, who works for Midway ISD. He has three sons, Ryan, Clark and Lance and three step-daughters, Sara, Katy and Dana Hunter.

Coach Ricky Badley is entering his 8th year at Midway High School as an assistant offensive line coach. He coached the previous three years at Midway Middle School.

Coach Badley graduated from Connally High School in 1994. He received his Bachelor Of Science Degree in Education from Baylor University in 1999. He teaches U.S. and World History. In addition to coaching football, he is an assistant track coach during the spring.

Coach Tommy George is starting his 13th year as a linebacker coach for the Midway High School Panthers.

Coach George graduated from Brownwood High School, playing on the only back-to-back football state championship team in the history of the school. After high school he attended Howard Payne College where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Prior to coaching at Midway, Coach George coached at Valley Mills High School, Academy High School and Belton High School.

Coach George is married to Ann, and they have three daughters, Angela, Marci, and Abbey.

Coach Calvin Hill is starting his 14th season as the defensive coordinator for the Midway High School Panthers. This season will also mark the beginning of Coach Hill’s 34th year of coaching high school football.

Coach Hill is a graduate of Southern Arkansas University and received his Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Texas A&M University at Commerce. During his coaching tenure, he has held the positions of first assistant football coach, head track coach and presently, head powerlifting coach. He also was the athletic director/head football coach for the Pittsburg I.S.D. prior to accepting his position with Midway.

Coach Hill is happily married to Charlotte, and they have one son Steve, one daughter Ebony, and six grandchildren.

Coach David Petroff is entering his 5th year at Midway High School.  He will be coaching the secondary and working as Co-Defensive Coordinator. Coach Petroff is in his 12th year of coaching. Prior to Midway, Coach Petroff led the secondary at Frisco High School.

Coach Petroff graduated from Tarleton State University in 1997 where he was a three-year letterman in football. Coach Petroff teaches physical education.

He is married to Cathleen and they have two children Payton and Riley.

Coach Jud Marking is entering his 2nd year as Wide Receiver coach for Midway High School.  He previously coached two years at Midway Middle School and six years at McGregor ISD.

Coach Marking received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Baylor University. 

Coach Marking is married to Cyndy and they have two sons, Braden and Luke.

Pat Gresham 

This is Coach Gresham’s 2nd year at Midway and his twenty-ninth year coaching.  He is a graduate of Midway High School and Angelo State University. 

He and his wife, Barbara, have two sons Drew & Shea.

Robby Edwards 

Coach Robby Edwards is entering his first year at Midway High School as an assistant secondary coach.  Coach Edwards received his Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University.  Before coming to Midway, he was the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach at Riesel High School and an assistant coach at China Spring and Temple High Schools. 

Coach Edwards is married to Shannon, who is the technology director at Baylor University in the Department of Education.  They have two sons, Riley and Grayson.
