Round Rock Relays

Round Rock High School

Busses will leave from in front of the MHS gymnasium at 10:15 am Thursday.  You will go to 1st and 2nd periods, leave at 10:00 am from second period, and miss 3rd through 7th periods for this meet.  We will provide a meal during the meet, and you will be responsible for breakfast and supper.  We should be back about 11:00 pm. 

Directions:  Take I-35 South to Round Rock (about 75 miles).  Take Exit 252-B-A toward Hwy. 620/McNeil Rd. (at exit go RIGHT onto Round Rock Ave./620).  Go to the 3rd traffic signal (Deepwood Road) and take a left.  Take the next left (past the swimming pool) into stadium parking.

Ø      This will be timed finals only. In the field events there will be 4 attempts for the J.V. and in the Varsity we will have a prelims and finals. The top seven performers will advance to the finals in the Varsity Shot, Discus, Long Jump and Triple Jump.

Ø      Awards will be given to the top six finishers in the Varsity and top three in the J.V.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Field Events begin at 1:00

We will throw the shot and discus using two rings. The Varsity Girls and J.V. Girls will throw the Discus simultaneously while the Varsity Boys and J.V. Boys will throw the Shot at the same time.

When one division finishes the next one will start in all field events.

There will be 4 attempts in the Shot, Discus, Long Jump and Triple Jump in each division. (No finals). The objective here is to be finished with the field events by 3:30 before the finals of the running begin.

If your athlete is running the 100 or High Hurdles please have them report back to their field event as soon as their race is completed.
