2008 MIDWAY RELAYS

UIL Rules and order of events will be followed.  Scratch Meeting:  7:30 a.m. in dressing rooms at the track.  The gym and school facilities will not be open to any athletes.  Restrooms and concession stand will be open at the track.  Lunch will be provided for coaches and workers.

Entries:     Entries will be done online again this year.  Entries will open on Wednesday, February 13.  Complete one form for each division.   When you have completed the form, click SUBMIT.  This sends the entries to us. You should see a confirmation of your entries.  If you have problems, e-mail Ronny Boles at ronald.boles@midwayisd.org.   Please have entries submitted by 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20th.

Entry Fees:        Varsity - $100.00        J.V. - $75.00

We have a polyurethane surface on our track and request no athletic tape be used for marking relay exchanges.  Lanes can be marked with tennis balls.  Flats or ¼ spikes must be worn.  Lynx Timing System will be used.

Varsity Division:  4 throws or jumps             J.V. Division:  3 throws or jumps 

Starting Heights:

          High Jump:  J.V. Girls – 4’4”              Boys’ Pole Vault: Starting height 9’

                             Varsity Girls – 4’8”         Five Alive – Varsity & J.V. together

                             J.V. Boys – 5’4”             Girls’ Pole Vault:  Starting height 7’

                             Varsity Boys – 5’8”        Five Alive – Varsity & J.V. together

Running Events:  Best 8 times to finals

Awards:                Each division – Team Championship Trophy, Medals 1-2-3, Relay Trophies

Final Sheets:        Will be ready as soon as possible at the conclusion of the prelims.

Final Results:      Can be picked up at the end of the meet (1 copy per team); also available by clicking here as soon as possible at the conclusion of the meet.
