Coach Meinzer's Game Reports - Junior Varsity

 

Brownwood

The Lions traveled to Panther Field for a make up game from the first round. They jumped to a 2-0 lead before the Panthers bats woke up. The Panthers then rolled to a 12-2 win in 5 innings.  Jeremy Boudousquie went the distance, while Brandon Knapp and Trace Day were both (2-3) with doubles.

Copperas Cove

The JV traveled to Copperas Cove and came away with a 16-4 decision in 5 innings. Trace Day pitched 4 1/3 innings and Brandon Knapp pitched scoreless relief. Knapp also contributed with a homerun in the 3rd inning, but was matched by Ryan Watters with blast in the 5th.

Waco High

The JV baseball team defeated Waco High 16-0 in 4 innings. Jeremy Boudousquie, Caleb Overstreet and Braden Snyder pitched for the Panthers, while numerous players contributed with hits.

Waxahachie Game

In a non-district game on Saturday, the JV won 12-2 in five innings against Waxahachie. Jeff Gerik pitched a complete game while Jared Lummus, Brandon Knapp Trace Day and Jacob Hoeffner all hit home runs in the win. The JV ran their record to 13-2 overall.

Killeen Game

The JV Baseball team beat Killeen Friday 18-0 in five innings. Trace Day and Jeremy Boudousquie combined for the shutout, while Taylor Pryor was 4 for 4 and Ryan Bruner was 2 for 2 with 2 triples. The JV Baseball team is 5-0 in district play.

Midlothian Game

In a non-district game, the JV baseball team played at Midlothian and won 6 to 2.  Jeff Gerik got the win only giving up one earned run through 6 innings. The leading hitter was Trace Day who went 3 for 3 with a double.  The JV baseball team is 11-2 overall and 4-0 in district.

University Game

The JV baseball team defeated University 34-0 in three innings to stay undefeated in district at 4-0.  Jeremy Boudousquie and Braden Snyder combined for a shutout.  Leading hitters were Kyle Kennedy 3 for 3, Jared Lummus 3 for 3 and Jared Trevathan 4 for 5.

Copperas Cove Game

The JV team cruised to a 15-0 win over Cove behind a perfect game from Trace Day. Jared Lummus went (2-2) with a double.

 Waco Game

The JV baseball team jumped out to a 22 -0 lead in the second inning and never looked back. Trace Day and Caleb Overstreet combined for the shutout.  Taylor Pryor went (3-3) with a double.

 Killeen Game

The JV opened district with 6-1 victory over Killeen High. Jeff Gerik threw the complete game for the win. Brandon Knapp went 3-4.

 Cleburne Game

The JV traveled to Cleburne and coasted to a 17-2 win. Jeremy Boudousquie and Braden Snyder contributed to the good pitching effort while a host of Panthers hit well including Jared Lummus (4-4) and Gerik with a HR.

Waxahachie Game

The JV traveled to Waxahachie to play a very good Waxahachie team. The Panthers escaped with a 8-6 win in a very back and forth game.  Zach Dickerson got the win while Corey Holmes threw 2 shutout innings to preserve the win. Dickerson went 2-4 at the plate, Taylor Pryor went 2-4 with a double, Jacob Hoeffner went 2-3, and Jeff Gerik went 3-4.

Midway JV Tournament

The JV played Belton HS in the opener of the Midway JV Tournament. Trace Day led the way giving up only one earned run in a 9-2 win. Day went 2-4 with a double while Taylor Pryor went 2-3 and Jared Lummus went 2-4 with two doubles.

West Varsity Tournament

The JV baseball team played in the West varsity tournament where they faced some good competition. In the first game, the JV lost 6-10 to Groesbeck in a close ball game throughout. Trace Day pitched giving up only 5 earned runs while also hitting a HR and a double.

In the second game we faced Lake Worth and lost 1-2 in a very well played ball game. Jeremy Boudousquie and Jeff Gerik combined to only give up two runs, but we were unable to get runners on base. Brandon Knapp led the team hitting going 2-3 with a triple.

Burleson JV Tournament

The JV Panther Baseball Team captured the Burleson JV Tournament this past weekend defeating Mansfield Summit HS, 8-2, on Thursday and Burleson HS, 7-2, on Friday.  The JV Panthers defeated Arlington Martin HS 15-13 in the Championship game on Saturday.  The JV Panthers, 3-0 on the year, will play in the West Varsity Tournament this coming Thursday-Saturday.
